this morning i broke one of my grandmother's glass ramekins.
and i almost started crying.
it's a long story, but i was with my grandmother when she passed away. later i had a hard time taking her belongings. but i did get a few....these 50s era ramekins were part of my stash. i've kept them in pristine condition all these years.
until today.
and it reminded of long ago when i wrote a reader's theatre about the cracked pot.
(a reader's theatre is where a group of people perform from a script inside a 3-ring binder. everyone keeps their heads down until speaking their line or group lines. the only props used are the binders, which are perfect for clapping noises, slams, birds flying, airplanes, etc. ok, you get the idea.)
everyone knows the cracked pot story, right? i absolutely love this story.....love it. love it.
two pots are used for carrying water.
one is perfect, pristine condition.
one is cracked.
after years of service the cracked pot begins to feel its scars, its imperfections. but the owner quickly tells the pot of its true value...telling the pot to look behind them on their daily path. all along the side of the cracked pot's path grow beautiful and lush plants and flowers.
all b/c of the crack.
our God uses our cracks. and look what can be left in our path along the way.
as a majorly cracked pot myself (ok, yes...that's funny), i'm one seriously thankful chick that my God uses cracked pots. thank you, Lord, for imperfections.
* i promise more beach pics. i took almost 400 pics...that's a lot to go thru and just show the "perfect" ones. ha. but starting tomorrow get ready for Vacation-Palooza. for reals.
