holiday light tour

i started to title this post "charge of the light brigade" but then decided you might not read it, thinking i was going to spout more poetry to you.  i assure you i am not.  today.

i love family traditions.  don't you?  it's funny how they begin.

every year we drive around our neighborhood and look at christmas lights.  we get our baths early, throw on some warm jammies, crank up the christmas tunes...

and get Wendy's french fries.  wha?!?!?!?!?!?!

not very christmasy is it?  but every year bubba reminds us that is part of the tradition.  we don't often frequent wendy's {although i stinkin' love to dip their fries in a frosty!!!!} but for our light tour we most certainly do.

i forgot to take pictures.  so this is all you get.  sorry!!!  do you like the big box of diapers?  the tennis bag in the back???  ahhh, realism at its finest.

this year we added something new to our tradition:  MOMMA DROVE.

every year Dad does the driving.

and the rest of us get whiplash as we try to view the lights.

my joke goes, "oh kids, look at the lights...that we just passed back there.  they sure were pretty.  and oh look!  well, you missed it, but those were pretty too."

  2. I'm a 50-year old Nana but this post took me back to my childhood 'cause we totally always went to look at the Christmas lights :) Thanks for sharing & take it from me, those kiddos of yours will always remember it!
