disconnected

i feel...disconnected lately.

anybody else?

i'm out of touch....

with my own blog
with e v e r y t h i n g .

i suppose it's just the season of life.  may was crazy busy with end of the school year stuff, birthdays, mother's day, ball games, and all kinds of stuffy-stuff.  i'm trying to get back on track.  

in the meantime, there's pinterest.  {grin}

i made this the other night.

my meat eaters loved it.  and that includes my picky bruiser.  and that should tell you something.

i served it with fried squash from my garden...only half got fried b/c doh doh & bubba kept eating the raw squash.  we also had corn on the cob and yeast rolls.  yes, it was a delicious night.

hint:  if you decide to make it, watch it carefully halfway thru baking.  with the high heat, the brown sugar burns easily.

i made this tonight.

crockpot beef & broccoli.  HUGE hit.  except with doh doh.  she was. not. impressed.  but bubba loved it.  bruiser liked the beef, rice, & then munched on raw broccoli.  my man was in heaven.  i thought it was going to be Asian-like but he said it was more stew-like...which he happens to love.  so it was a win-win.

first bite into the meal he informed me it was a repeat meal.  so yeehaw.

hint:  i used stew meat instead of the round steak.  and i couldn't find the red chili paste the recipe calls for so i used a sweet red chili paste and threw in some dashes of mexican hot sauce.  i also cook my rice in vegetable broth, just for added flavor.  my family loves it this way.

monday i'm making this.

all this food talk is about to make me gain back the pound i lost this week.  so let's move on.

i'm dreaming of making this..............

those flowers are made from paper napkins!!!  gorgeous!!  how did i not find this tutorial BEFORE doh doh's birthday?!?!  doesn't matter....think i'll make some for her room.

i also need to make a couple of these.  sounds like a good project for tomorrow but i'm not sure i have the fabric i want.  {sigh}

oh, and today my dad & i made this.  

well, not this exactly.  but we snagged a couple of pallets, screwed them together, and put casters on the bottom.  i'd show pictures of mine, but i still need to paint it.  plus that would require hooking up my camera and uploading photos...and i'm just not in the mood for that right now.

i'm too busy watching golden girls.
