going with the urge

yesterday felt like friday. all. day.  probably b/c the boys are out of school today.  and they spent the night with my parents last night.  i tried to do all my friday chores yesterday.

but a certain little sickly lady decided she needed to be held.  a lot.  and honestly, her smooches are way better than laundry.

way better.

but today....well, i've got the urge to clean.  but i have limited time.  so i'm thinking that november is a really good time for some fall cleaning.  think spring cleaning....but ya know, in the fall.  *ahem*

so i'm making a list.  those who truly know me just let out one seriously loud GUFFAW.

yes, i said a LIST.  {i might even break out a super cute 3-ring binder to put it in.}  october is full.  too full.  so when i think of - or SEE - what needs to be cleaned it's going on the list.  and then when november rolls around, and my calendar clears, i'll start the process.

while i'm getting inspired by all her clean and pretty pictures, i think i need a new recipes binder.  i've been bad {ok, true confession:  REALLY BAD} about cooking lately.

unless you count cereal as cooking.  and if you do, then i love you.

source:  pinterest....how awesome is this picture????

so what about you?  cleaning anything?  organizing anything?  crafting anything?  cooking anything???  i should have some good crafty projects to share soon as well.  if time permits....

quick question for y'all.....

i need some reading suggestions for bubba.  he really wants "chapter books."  so here's the scoop:  he's 7, in 2nd grade, with a reading level at an upper 3rd grade (almost 4th grade) level.  any suggestions?

i read a lot as a kid.  but ya know, i'm a chick.  and i'd like him to have some dude literature to read.  and we don't do harry potter.  sorry, hp fans.  i haven't read any of it myself so i have no real opinion.  but the subject matter isn't anything we're interested in...again, sorry to all you die-hard vampire, wizard, etc fans.  much like anne of green gables might bore you, all the wizardry stuff puts me in a coma. are we still friends?

p.s. i hate these pictures of me.  what's up with my hair?  and my eyes?  no caffeine yet???  but i'm trying to get better about getting IN pictures with my kids.  *sigh*  that's a hard one for me.

p.p.s. my friend giggled this particular sunday morning at seeing me in pants.  yes.  pants.  i usually wear skirts or dresses.  but i'm actuallly in pants.  don't get used to it.

p.p.s.s.  looking at these outfits...did we oversleep this sunday morning???  good. grief.  i swear, we usually look cuter.

  3. Magic Treehouse (there are a FEW with wizardy stuff, but NOT many- most are really free of all the magic stuff and really cute and good), Nate the Great, and Henry Huggins/Ribsy/etc. (from the Ramona days...). :-)
