i heart boys.

i'm serious.  i heart boys.

no, this isn't a teenage girl post where i rant about the hotness of the new guy in gym class.  or a high schooler in the throws of john donne poetry, planning to spout to you the glories of taylor the hotty who loves shakespeare, alliteration, and the power of poetry.

no, this is just a post about how i heart boys.

MY boys

i love how their little minds work.

this morning in church i looked out at my fellas while i was at the front singing.  my man & doh doh stayed home b/c she has allergy issues going on.  and with doh doh, allergy issues make her volatile.  seriously volatile.  like, preteen angsty volatile.  capiche?

so the fellas and i went alone.  after they dragged my butt outta bed.  they sat still, cute, adorable, singing the songs.  and then during the meet & greet (or steak & taters, as i call it) they were high-fiving their friends, headlocking, slapping, being goofy boys.

and then SNAP! returned to normal, behaved little boys as soon as the first words were sung.  i almost guffawed into my microphone.  but i kept it together.  but my eyes may or may not have gotten a little misty.  they're growing up.  i hate it.

anyway, before i have a total meltdown, this is what our backyard currently looks like.

before you ask.....yes Bruiser's face is incapable of looking normal when the camera is on him.  good.  grief.

scrap lumber + odds & ends + a lazy weekend = one heckuva good weekend

the oldest fella pictured is one of my bestie's kiddos.  he's also my boys' bestie.  we
LOVE this kid.  i mean seriously, we're blessed.

don't judge my backyard, please.  this is behind our shed.  and we're in the midst of an intense drought.

how about some interior shots?  all righty then....

do you see that?  no, not the hideous rejected gardening items.  or the smoker in the back.  i'm talking about the pole.  yes.  the pole.  my boys have a pole in the middle of their fort.

is anyone else disturbed by this?!?!?

apparently they found it in our shed.  i had no idea i had a tension rod in there, but leave it to them to find it.  {sigh}

i'm scared.  i'm just so scared.

i did ask them if they were making moonshine out there.  nobody got it.  seriously, my humor is wasted most days.  clearly i'm unappreciated.

does anybody else hear banjo music?
