'cuz it makes my apartment smell...mossy

yesterday was my mother's birthday.  my family came to my house for dinner.  (well, it was lunch.  but in the south we call that dinner.  especially on a sunday.)

anyway, i didn't take one picture.  sad.  BUT we did sit around and quote movie lines.  (as well as talk politics, theology, and make fun of my brother...it's just what we do.) 

my niece & i share the same love for old movies, jane austen, musicals, and ridiculous comedies (think Muppets, what about bob?, three amigos)

i don't know how many lines from you've got mail we quoted.  

but it was a lot.  like, a lot a lot.  {hence the reason for the subject of this post.}

like a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils...........

so over the weekend my parents took my boys on a hike.  they picked persimmons along the way.  that afternoon we cut into them, to check out the seeds.  

do you know this weather forecasting trick??  some say it's an old wives tale, but i've found it to be true more years than not!  and guess what those sticky little persimmons told us this time?

that's my dad's hand.  and that's a spoon shape on that seed.  spoon = shovel, which means  lots of heavy, wet snow will fall this winter.

but this is arkansas.  much like our football program, the weather around here is pretty unpredictable.  {sigh.}

meanwhile, i'm putting up more twinkle lights...........

haven't seen you've got mail???  seriously?!?!  go get it!!!  like, now!!!!  

we're going to sell them cheap books and legal addictive stimulants.

if there's ever a trivia game on movie quotes, i'm all over it.
