something weird

confession:

i love bookstores.

i love libraries.

my boys love the book drop at our library.

i love the crinkle sound of the plastic wrapped around library hardbacks.

i get overwhelmed in libraries.

i have to have a goal when i enter a library.  and even a bookstore.  otherwise i get lost.  which is fine with me.  not so fine with my kiddos.

i adore young adult fiction.  unless it has vampires.  or werewolves.  or anything other than normal people in normal people situations.  and if it's 30 years old or older i'm even happier.

i haven't read YA fiction in years.  but i stroll through the section every time i go to the library.  and look at past titles i've read.

i'm watching project runway right now.  {which doesn't have anything to do with books but i thought i'd mention it.}

i love the crinkle sound of the pastic wrapped around library hardbacks.

especially children's books.  as i hold them up while reading aloud.

i've been a terrible mother and my kids haven't read much this summer.  but we're changing that.

bruiser started reading aloud a Magic Tree House book to me.  he's on chapter 6.  and can hardly wait to read more.  i love that.

bubba is grounded tomorrow and can't use his ipod or even watch tv.  i hate for reading to ever be a punishment, but hopefully he'll read some in the morning before tennis lessons.  he's usually my reader, but hasn't wanted to even crack a cover this summer!

we have back to back tennis lessons for bubba and me tomorrow.  after that i even have a tennis clinic.  but at some point tomorrow, i'm hoping to squeeze in a trip to the library.

if nothing more, just to hear the crinkle of that plastic.
