baseball games, school events, beautiful weather, longer days....let's just say laundry hasn't been done, but i've thrown a lot of baseballs and blown a lot of bubbles. {grin}
this week was mine & doh doh's birthday. {we share a birthday. did you know?}
technically, we're not partying until saturday night. but we had a very special day. just the two of us.
WARNING: photo dump!
blurry, but again...i'm trying be IN more pictures these days. and i just love this girl.
these are all from my phone. i really should've cropped them. but we're headed to the store soon so i can start decorating and cooking for our party tomorrow!
nana & grandad took us out to lunch at chickfila. then we went to visit Daddy at his office, of course. and then we went for our FIRST EVER mother-daughter manis & pedis.
this will be a new tradition for sure. my girl LOVED it.
and, like mother like daughter, she was so ticklish they had trouble working on those cute little piggies.
but she still loved it. she chose glittery {of course} red for some toes and glittery silver for the others. i was floored she didn't choose pink.
we first just went in for pedicures. i rarely ever paint my fingernails. i dig in the dirt too much. or have my hands in dishwater. basically, i'm a mom. but we had doh doh's fingernails painted. and of course that time she chose pink & pink. kinda like blush & bashful. {wink}
if you've never done this with your daughter....GO. go do it today. even if you never do it for yourself. it was so fun "treating" ourselves to this and letting her see how it's done. i'm telling ya, i loved it. even if you just have some friends come over and you do it at home. DO IT! we loved it. perfect birthday celebration!
that night we went to dinner with friends, then back to our house for cookie cake.
i like icing. can you tell? shhhhh............
it was a great day. now i'm off to work on my to do list for the day: grocery store, decorate for party, make cupcakes, do laundry, clean house, meet with pianist to practice songs (see note below)....and the list goes on. wish me luck. i can feel my blood pressure rising. {ahhh! that makes me think of Creedence Clearwater Revival: "i feel my temperature rising!" name that song!}
*************************
the morning of our birthday, we found out that a friend's husband had passed away the day before. he left behind a wife and 2 daughters. my heart is just broken for them. she has asked me to sing at the funeral tomorrow. please pray for this family. and please also pray for me. i'm an emotional person! singing 3 songs at a funeral is going to be very hard for me. ok, singing at any funeral is hard for me...but this will be a tough one. thank you, sweet friends!
